THE VALUE OF DUA IN RAMADAN. Allah Ta’ala says in the Quran : "And when My slaves ask you (O Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) concerning Me, then surely I am near. I answer the prayer of the supplicant when he calls to Me." (Surah Baqarah Verse 186). In the month of Ramadan there are two special times when duas are readily accepted by Allah : At the time of Iftaar (breaking the fast) and at the time of Suhoor (beginning the fast). 1. Dua at the time of Iftaar Verse 186, quoted above, has been mentioned in the middle of two verses to do with fasting and Ramadan, verse 185 and verse 187. Ibn Kathir (Ra), the great commentator of the Quran, has mentioned that this verse encouraging dua in the middle of the verses of Sawm indicates that dua is readily accepted at the end of the fast. Whoever asks 12 Raka'at (12 cycles) in this night. In each Raka'at relate Surah Fatihah and some other Surah from Quran. After every 2 Raka'at display Tashud and end the salat with Salam. (Means: Recite 12 Raka'at with four Salams, 2 Raka'at on the double)   After that present this 100 times (After fulfillment of 12 Raka'at's): "SubHan Allaahi Wal Hamdulillahi Wa Laa ilaah illal Laaho Wallah Hoo Akbar" "Astagfirullah" 100 times Durood Sharif 100 times.
